4.28.11

Gary wanted to show me somebody's grass. I made him stop to take a picture of the beautiful trees with spring color and the overcast, gray sky.

Side note: I color corrected it in Picnik and this is how it turned out. But that's not really what it looked like, so I didn't want to use it. But still pretty. I suppose this is how it would have looked if it weren't 7:30 p.m., cloudy and dusk.

FINALLY finished!

I finally finished a blanket I've been working on for a few months. I should never work on blankets because I tend to get bored and lose momentum really quickly.

Anywho, it turned out really nice. I decided to give it to my momma. Red is her favorite color. I wanted to put an edging on it, but I wanted to give it to her on Easter and I didn't want to work on it anymore. Pretty lazy, huh?

Mom is always cold, so maybe she'll get some use out of the afghan. Despite the holes it's pretty warm! Online it was described as a "summer blanket" but summer is upon us. We shall see.

Easter 2011

This Easter was a good one. We started out the day at home hunting eggs in the back yard. The rain held off enough for a nice morning hunt.

Yes. You can believe your eyes. It's cotton candy piled on a hard boiled egg...
IMG_9700

We followed up on that with making Easter cookies. I'm SO glad we cut the recipe in half because it took forever to decorate all of them. But we had fun.

Look at those pretty blue eyes and insanely noticeable cow lick.

Then, it was time for Easter pictures. Vincent made a bunny out of puff balls and yarn. No picture though...

We didn't let rain ruin the afternoon.
Note the nice cute face.

Finally, we went to my mom's house for another egg hunt and dinner.

They had some pretty creative eggs!

Had a great day, but it was a little bittersweet because it was the first holiday we've spent without Gramps. I miss him so much.

Aholt Farms

Vincent, Gary's mom, Gary, my mom and myself all packed into the car for our annual Easter trip to Aholt Farms.

The farm has wooden egg painting, baby chicks, piglets, goats and other animals, an egg hunt, a barrel ride, hay ride, pedal cars, face painting, and of course, the Easter Bunny. Vincent said he wouldn't be scared to sit with the bunny this year because he is 4, and 4-year-olds aren't scared of the Easter Bunny.

Here Vincent is painting a wooden egg.

He fed the goats, though I'm not sure we were supposed to.

And the bunny even got a kiss!

Vincent wanted him and Memaw to both have pink tractors on their face.

I took a try too, note the ugly face! It got worse as I went down...

He insisted that they put "Vince" on there. I could have personalized it better myself I think.

Here he is at home with the new bunny.
